I Wanna Scream & Shout & Let It All Out / Te Vas Al Infierno / Chinga Tu Madre by Steven Aron Williams
What started out as a fun flash back to the camp, foul mouthed soap opera that is Lucha Libre I saw in Mexico, has some how descended into something much darker and equally ridiculous.
It’s coincidental its completion coincided with Pride month. That time of year when rainbows adorn everything from corporate logos, pants, generally any old tat and at one point a few years back an M&S sandwich. It’s never sat well with me for some reason. Perhaps I’m being a miserable old sod?
The fact of the matter is LGBTQIA+ discrimination is on the rise. Rights are being challenged and erroded, championed by the far right, pious religious conservatives and good old fashioned bigots. It’s still illegal to be gay in 66 countries, 13 of which have the the death penalty. 14 nations actually ban transgender identity altogether. It makes me want scream. I suppose this is my way of addressing the darkness. It also proves I still cannot draw hands to save my life…
